As an independent engineering office we step in when a well-founded technical decision is needed: when judging the load-bearing capacity of an existing structure, investigating the causes of a damage event or failure, accurately surveying a facility, or when a design or product made abroad has to be adapted to Hungarian regulations.

Survey of existing facilities

A reliable expert opinion and an accurate design start from the real condition. Where needed, we survey the existing state by laser scanning, LiDAR or photogrammetry, so that design is based on measured geometry rather than assumptions.

Inspection of damaged structures

In the case of a damage event, a planned load increase or an alteration, we identify the cause of the failure and verify the remaining load capacity by calculation — all the way to the strengthening solution.

Localising foreign designs and products

A design or product made abroad cannot be built in on its own in Hungary: the loads, the material grades and the documentation must be adapted to the Hungarian standards and regulations. We carry out this complete process.

Localising designs

  • Recalculation per the Hungarian National Annexes of the Eurocodes (snow, wind and seismic loads)
  • Matching of differing material grades and section ranges
  • Hungarian-language permit and construction documentation
  • Design signature certified by an authorised engineer (chamber membership)
  • Support for authority coordination and permitting

Localising products

  • Checking the CE marking and Declaration of Performance (DoP)
  • Compliance per Regulation (EU) 305/2011 (CPR) and Gov. Decree 275/2013 (VII. 16.)
  • National technical assessment (NMÉ / ÉMI) where no harmonised standard exists
  • Selection of an equivalent domestic product, justified substitution
  • Verification of buildability and design suitability

The standards and regulations framing the design

In Hungary, structural design is governed by a set of interrelated standards and regulations. We always apply the versions in force at the time of design:

  • MSZ EN 1990–1999 (Eurocode) + National Annexes — the basic standards of structural design; the Hungarian loads (snow, wind, temperature, seismic) are given in the National Annexes.
  • Act LXXVIII of 1997 (Étv.) — on the formation and protection of the built environment; the framework act for construction activity.
  • Gov. Decree 191/2009 (IX. 15.) — on construction activity; the content requirements of construction (design) documentation.
  • Gov. Decree 312/2012 (XI. 8.) — on building authority and building inspection permitting procedures.
  • Gov. Decree 266/2013 (VII. 11.) — on the practice of building professions; the conditions of design authorisation and chamber membership.
  • Gov. Decree 280/2024 (IX. 30.) (TÉKA) — the basic regulation of town-planning and building requirements; under transitional rules the former OTÉK may still be relevant for some older or ongoing cases.
  • Regulation (EU) 305/2011 (CPR) + Gov. Decree 275/2013 (VII. 16.) — the marketing and design/installation of construction products into works (CE marking, Declaration of Performance).
